EATING DISORDER RECOVERY
Everytime I look at the picture on the left, I remember people complementing me for my slim and tiny body and how proud I must be for being fit.
The fact that society still sells underweight and super skinny bodies or super fit bodies as THE PERFECT BODY is criminal in my humble opinion.
Young girls grow up wanting to change their bodies scared of not being accepted for who they are and what they look like and women of every age struggle with accepting their flaws and fears of gaining weight.
Truth is, I WAS proud of the way I looked, but also constantly wanted to lose more weight. More than that I was unhappy, starved, tired, grumpy, unfocussed, miserabel, cold, anxious and depressed NON STOP.
And I wanna say my eating disorder probably wasn’t as bad as other people experience it.
To except recovery and the outcome (~ +13kg later) was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through. It’s taken me 2 years at least to accept that I don’t choose my weight.
MY BODY DOES!!
and today I feel happier than ever in my body (despite the occasional bad body image days).
Please can we try and accept our bodies for what they are and how every day they keep us going and alive and fight illnesses and diseases FOR US as long as we nourish and feed it properly.

A base layer made of
1 cup ground oats &
3 tbsp vegan choc spread
(dates, hazelnut butter, dark choc) and some agave syrup
Then a mix of blended whole cooked chestnuts (merchantgourmet), 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder, 2 tbsp agave syrup and a dash of sea salt
With a chocolate layer on top:
Just cocoa powder mixed with more syrup and water !

most of my meals I don’t even show on Instagram because I am an absolute freestyle cook. I always use what I have at home and hope for the best.
What always works is some sort of grain with beans and veggies plus a source of healthy fats like nuts/seeds/avocado.
Example here: basmati rice with roasted chickpeas and fried tofu, plus red bell pepper and lots of dried herbs. Added some almond butter on top.
